OUR HOME - THE THREE VALLEYS

Our home is where our heart will always be. It’s where we create memories, plan our tomorrows and reflect on our todays. Nestled amongst the three valleys of Clare, Gilbert and Barossa, our brand pays homage to the feeling of being ‘home’ and celebrating the unspoken solidarity and belonging that comes with life’s nearest and dearest.

The business of life can pull us apart but our passion, purpose and true place of belonging will always remain at home – our home,  our Three Valleys, our Good Life.

RIVERTON - OUR HOME BASE

Riverton  is the biggest town in the Gilbert Valley, a valley of grain sandwiched between the Clare and Barossa valleys, and it is our home base in this beautiful country.

Riverton was first settled in 1856, and was a settlement along the bullock track from the mining town of Burra on the way to Adelaide. In 1869 the railway from Gawler to Peterborough reached Riverton and the railway station became a stopping point for trains going to Broken Hill, Alice Springs and Perth. It was said to be grandest of all railway stations in country South Australia, and was the site of Australia’s first political assassination in 1921, a story marked by courage and tragedy which inspired our Assassin Gin.

Riverton today is experiencing a revival as it is being rediscovered. The Hotel Central, built in 1908, was recently re-opened and serves excellent food in its dining room, with a private parlour for functions (www.hotelcentralriverton.com.au). It complements the original Riverton Hotel (originally known as the Riverton Arms in 1857) which was restored in 2002 (www.rivertonhotel.com.au). The old Emporium, built in 1874 is now home to the Emporium Bakehouse.

We invite all to experience this beautiful town – www.riverton.sa.au
